Tori Amos - The Light Princess
Event information:
Detailed description:
It’s official. The National Theatre in London have finally confirmed that the long-awaited Tori Amos-penned musical based on George MacDonald’s Victorian fairytale The Light Princess will make its stage debut in April 2012 in the Lyttelton Theatre. In the story, a princess cursed with a lack of gravity discovers that the only time she doesn’t float up into the air is when she’s swimming. Because of her relationship with water, if she can master the art of crying, there’s a chance she may be grounded and be able to marry the noble prince who has fallen in love with her.
Amos wrote the music and lyrics, with additional lyrics and a book by producer Samuel Adamson (‘All About My Mother’, ‘Some Kind Of Bliss’). Directing the production is frequent Adamson collaborator Marianne Elliott (‘War Horse’, ‘Pillars Of The Community’).
