RELEASE INFO:
“Chilean producer Franbeats makes his debut on Ivan Nikusev's OLD SQL Recordings this week for the labels 12th overall release. Franbeats had some outstanding productions in 2011 most notably his two interpretations of Ivan's collaboration with MSZ and Lucas Hache entitled 'Open Your Heart' which appeared on Michael & Levan and Stiven Rivic's Mistique Music. Franbeats debut EP for OLD SQL is entitled 'Circles' and it comes with 3 fresh original tracks.
'Circles' leads the EP off with a nice sombre vibe and some amazing bubbly sounding synths. The percussive elements are rattling nicely and bursting with character. The breakdown focuses on some great chords changes that come with a subtle build which leads back to Fran's smooth but poignant groove perfectly. The second track 'Roads' follows with more of a pumping progressive groove and a distinct old school flavour. A chugging bass line, simple but very effective synth sequences along with some effects laden electronics keep the driving energy high. This leads to a series of glassy bells entering the mix for a killer hypnotic effect. The breakdown boosts some swirling energy and a monumental build that should see fireworks on your dance floor. The EP closes with 'Connect Your Senses' which begins with a strong, stomping kick, big sweeping synths and a floaty melodic pattern. As the composition builds a set of hypnotic chimes and a sultry female vocal sample are introduced as the track approaches the breakdown. The drop is epic to say the least with big melodies and the vocal parts building to a monster climax. This is the biggest tune on the EP and a great way to cap it off.”
